Taking his passion for data-driven and informed decision making, combined with real world application, Dr. McKenna provides a wealth of experience that results in a comprehensive approach to school safety. He has served in academic research positions, leadership positions in state government, and worked with local school districts to implement safety strategies. He has authored many articles in academic journals in areas related to school safety, produced technical reports to state and government agencies, as well as worked on the front lines with school and district leadership and law enforcement to implement school safety strategies. He has also developed a network of partners who are subject matter experts various school safety areas that he has leveraged to bring the best knowledge together to support school safety and security. Dr. McKenna received his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University (RI) and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Texas State University.
